He participated in revolutionary activities at a young age and was one of the cadres of the first generation of cadres. He was involved in local construction, building good relations with local people, building revolutionary government and armed forces in his homeland. It can be said that nearly all of comrade Võ Chí Công revolutionary lifetime was associated with the revolutionary struggle movement of his homeland, Quảng Nam - Đà Nẵng.

SHOWDuring the resistance war against the French colonialists and the American imperialists. Comrade Võ Chí Công was considered the soul of the revolutionary movement in zone V because he was always present in the most important and fierce areas. He and soldiers of Central Bureau of the Southern Department, the Party Committee of Zone V directed the gathering and mobilization of all forces in the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam, leading the South Vietnamese army and people to overcome all obstacles, sacrifices and hardships and to win one victory after another.

After the South was liberated, comrade Võ Chí Công was appointed as the Deputy Representative of the Central Committee of the Party and Government in the South. With his prestige and dedication, at the First Session of the VIII National Assembly, he was elected Chairman of the State Council of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1987 - 1992 term).
